Breaking: 20 people slaughtered by gunmen in Zamfara

SHARE

20 people have been reportedly slaughtered by gunmen last night at Tungar Kwana, Talata Mafara LGA of Zamfara State.

In July 2018, Amnesty International conducted a research on Nigeria’s forgotten conflict. The failures of the authorities to act has left villagers in Zamfara at the mercy of armed bandits, who have killed hundreds of people since 2012. Since the attack the village has been largely deserted.

The former vice president Atiku Abubakar has also commented on the whole event. He said the attack in Zamfara that led to the killing of scores of people is one attack too many. #EndInsecurity should be more than a hashtag; it should be a commitment to the protection of the life and property of the people of the region.

Some concerned Nigerians have also said that the innocent people have been killed in Zamfara by armed bandits and it has been happening for a while. Rather than holding the president accountable for the security of lives and properties of the people, the northerners rather remain quiet and defend the president because he's from the same region.

Some twitter users have also made known their displeasure for the fact that in our country, there's no regard to human lives.

On tuesday, there was a massacre of unarmed protesters in Lekki Lagos, where scores of peaceful #ENDSARS protester were shot and killed by Nigerian Millitary. Meanwhile, the millitary is supposed to  focus on the northern war zones where bandits and terrorists have killed and are still killing people daily.
