A lawyer based in Lagos, Olukoya Ogungbeje has dragged President Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai to Court over the shooting of peaceful protesters at lekki tollgate.
Olukoya Ogungbeje filed the suit before the Federal High Court of Lagos. Suing President Buhari and the Chief of Army Staff and ten others for abusing the human right of the protesters.
The lawyer is asking the court to order the defendant to pay 10bn compensation to all victims who died and also those that sustained injuries.
The defendants are the Federal government of Nigerian, the Nigerian Army, the Chief of defense staff, Inspector general of police, and the Nigeria Police force.
Others are the Attorney general of the Federation, State Security Service, Director-General SSS, Lagos State Government, and the Attorney general of Lagos State.
