How #ENDSARS Trended 280 Billion Times in two weeks

SHARE

The #ENDSARS has trended 280 billion times in two weeks on twitter. This has made the the anti-police-brutality campaign a global topic and it has attracted the interests of international communities and persons.

The protest that lasted for just two weeks in Nigeria both online and offline has caused a paradigm shift in the history of Nigeria and Africa at Large.

In the protest, the youth demonstrated peacefully without leaders. This has demonstrated that every Nigerian youth is capable of leading.

A source has it that the hashtage #ENDSARS trended 280 billion times. That is commendable.

Let's do the mathematics. The world total population is 7.8 billion people. #ENDSARS trended 280 billion times. That is approximately 36 times the world population. In order words, it means every single person on the planet earth would have tweeted #ENDSARS 36 times.

See what an annonymous youth said about the protest:

We protested for 14 days without vandalisation.14 days of rejecting bribe, 14 days of caring and looking out for each other. 14 days of giving free medical care and legal services, Brands, both national and international Celebrities, Churches all protested... influencial people were lobbied to add their voice.

At the protest grounds, the Christians gave room for the Muslims to have their Jumat prayers. The Christians had their service on Sunday..

There was a candlelight service held all over the nation for fallen heroes, Youths despite the hard economy spent their personal money cooking for each other.

No one knew who was a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa, or  Edo... We ate together and danced together.

For 14 days, These were organised without a formal leader with just social media tweets, retweets, post, shares with a harshtag. For 12 days we built the Nigeria of our dreams...
