The All Progressive Congress has alleged a governor from the Northwest is sponsoring banditry, abduction, and other crimes in the region.

Although the party doesn't mention the name of the governor and state. The ruling party begged the security agency to investigate an intelligence report which it claimed indicted the governor. The allegation was made in a statement yesterday by Yekini Nabena, the party acting deputy national publicity secretary.

The APC warns the opposition party to stop politicizing the abduction of schoolboys from Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State. According to the party, the increased rate of banditry in the Northwest was politically motivated and not connected to the un-named governor alleged to sponsored banditry and other crimes in the zone.

The party spokesman said in a statement our security agencies has intelligent reports linking one of the Northwest governors to collusion and sponsporship of violent and criminal activities of bandits. However relevant security agencies as a matter of urgency, investigate the report and determine its veracity. Human life is not what we should play political chess games with. We must chun enemies of the country including PDP who seeks political gains from issues of insecurity.

There are seven states in the Northwest and five of them are under APC control, They are Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, and Kebbi.  Two are under PDP, Sokoto, and Zamfara.
