Nigeria Government Reduces Data Price by 50%

The Honourable Minister of Communication on Thursday announced that the price of data has been reduced by more than 50% following a directive that the Nigerian Communication Communication (NCC) should put a measure in place to that effect.

1GB which was sold for 1000 has been slashed to 487 beginning from last November.

The Minister of Communication and digital economy Dr. Isah Pantami who disclosed this said it was in-line with the directive he gave to the regulatory agency (NCC) to put measures in place to reduce the average cost of data in the country.

The cost of 1GB data has reduced from the January 2020 cost of  N1000 to N487.14 in November 2020. This was based on a re[port by Nigeria Communication Commission  submitted to the honorable Minister following the implementation of the directives Dr Pantami's Techican Assitant , Mr Femi Adeluyi said in a statement issued on Thursdai in Abuja.
