Former APC member Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending several days in Britain receiving medical treatment.
On the night
of Friday, October, 2021, the leader of the APC political party landed in
Nigeria from London.
In a
statement issued by one of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's
spokespersons, Jubril Aremu Gawat, he said Tinubu had returned to Nigeria after
undergoing knee surgery overseas.
Gawat said
Tinubu had not undergone a dangerous operation for his life, but only his feet
were bothering him, and he was now enjoying it.
"He has
completed his knee treatment. He is happy. Now that he has returned to Nigeria,
he is ready to continue his efforts to ensure the well-being of all, and so
that Nigeria can move forward," he said.
Tinubu later
thanked all Nigerians for their prayers and perseverance throughout his stay
abroad.
If you
haven't forgotten, there have been some rumors that Bola Tinubu has passed
away.
But his
spokesman, Tunde Rahman, said the report was "very shocking" and that
he was not ill.
A few weeks
later, the Lagos State governor visited, and other politicians, possibly as
many as 30, also visited London.
However,
although Tinubu has not yet publicly stated that he will run for president in
2023, his ten have begun chanting after him.
In other
news, a coalition of governors in southern Nigeria has agreed that southern
Nigeria should be the next president after Muhammadu Buhari, but their
counterparts from the north have said nothing like that.
Among the
politicians whose names are rumored to be the right position for the presidency
in Yoruba land other than Tinubu are vice president, Professor Yemi Osibajo and
Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi.
