Check Out What EFCC Seized From Obiano After Regaining Freedom, Nigerians React

Willie Obiano, the embattled former governor of Anambra, has been officially discharged by the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission).

 

According to DailyTrust, Anambra state’ s immediately preceding governor was released on administrative bail on Wednesday evening after being apprehended by the anti- graft agency just hours after handing over to the incoming governor, Prof. Charles Soludo.

 

The embattled former governor’ s passport was allegedly seized as part of his bail term, according to the DailyTrust Newspaper.

You may recall that Willie Obiano was apprehended at the Lagos Airport on his way to the United States on Thursday, just hours after Prof. Soludo’ s inauguration.

 

Prior to his detention, the former governor was on the EFCC’ s watch list, according to an EFCC spokesman.

 

Following that, the commission took Willie Obiano into custody and investigated him for days over charges of squandering N5 billion in Sure- P funds, N37 billion in security votes that were received in cash, and some exaggerated contracts.

 

You may recall that a video of Willie Obiano in EFCC custody was posted online a few days ago, eliciting strong reactions from Nigerians.

The EFCC, on the other hand, said a few days ago that it had apprehended the perpetrator of the viral video and promised to punish the officer for breaking its establishment policy.

 

Willie Obiano’ s wife, on the other hand, has been in the news in recent days after an incident with the wife of Biafran warlord Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu.
